Argentina. San Juan exports 70% of its garlic production

Due to the high production of garlic in province San-Juan, Argentina is one of the leading exporters of garlic in the world.

The province of San Juan produces 18 million kilograms of garlic with 1500 hectares. This is much more than what the local market consumes. Therefore, the province focuses on the export of white garlic in the United States, Europe, and one of the main target countries – Taiwan.

Today, San Juan exports 70% of garlic and according to the online edition, due to the high speed local production, Argentina has become the second largest exporter of garlic in the world.

The cost of exported garlic is $ 24 per box (10 kg).
