The fragrant event – the garlic festival – will take place next weekend in Kuremaa, bringing together the Estonians, for whom the piquant spice has become a special way of life, and offering the public “mountains” of garlic – marinated and soaked, green and black, as well as onions, garlic cream and other spices.


The garlic festival in Estonia is held this year for the tenth time, however, two years ago, he “moved” from Jõgeva County to Tartu County, but now he has returned “in place” and invites guests on 19 August to garlic flavors in Kuremaa, according to

Basically garlic-spicy stalls and tents of the festival will be located on the shore of Lake Kuremaa. Within the framework of the event, there will be agricultural seminars, book exhibitions with garlic publications, as well as displaying the largest and unique garlic varieties claiming to receive various titles.

Garlic as a way of life

It is noteworthy that the festival will be attended by the most famous garlic producers of Estonia, in particular, specialists from agricultural universities. At the same time, the organizers of the event happily note the fact that the festival will unite people for whom garlic is not just a cultivated spice, but a special way of life.

Garlic green, smoked, pickled

Of course, one of the brightest aspects of the festival will be a large garlic fair where you can try and buy garlic in all its possible “configurations and manifestations” – garlic green and black, smoked, pickled and soaked, lard and black bread with garlic, garlic Cream and many other goodies.

Already, more than a hundred garlic producers are registered to participate in the fair. Buyers will also be offered seedlings, seedlings and all kinds of condiments.
