Spain. Increasing the quality of the garlic harvest by using laboratory techniques


In the municipality of Vallelado, province of  Segovia, after six years of laboratory work, scientists were able to release planting garlic from fungi and bacteria.



The process is that you first select the appropriate head of garlic, remove them from virus-free cell and incubated in vitro for three months. Thus, garlic originates in ideal antiparasitic conditions.

Thereby, scientists predict an increase in the production of garlic by 50%. In this case, garlic will grow strong, with a large volume in diameter.

Local garlic growers expect to see the actual agronomic potential already in July of this year.
