Turkey. The beginning of the harvest


The collection started in the southern region of Turkey, which is the main garlic producer for domestic and foreign markets – the city of Gaziantep.


Because of the good weather this year, the harvest is expected to amount to 20 thousand tons (with an acreage of 4,000 hectares of garlic).

This year is considered fruitful for Turkey, therefore in the whole the country is expected about 80 thousand tons of quality garlic.

Currently, wholesale prices in the range of 4-5  Turkish lira ($1.13 – 1,42) per kilogram of garlic.
